A Prayer for America’s 250th Birthday

As America marks its 250th year, we pause to give thanks to God for His faithfulness throughout our nation’s journey. Two and a half centuries of freedom, opportunity, and blessings testify to His guiding hand. Yet we recognize that true strength comes not from power or wealth but from humility and dependence on the Lord.

In 2 Chronicles 7:14, we read:
“If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”

Today, we pray that America would humble herself before God. May the citizens of this nation seek His wisdom and justice in our leaders and righteousness in our actions. Let us turn from division and pride and instead unite in love and truth.

Lord, as America steps into her next chapter, may Your peace reign in our hearts and homes. May Your Word be a lamp for our feet and a light for our path (Psalm 119:105). Restore us, heal us, and guide us so that this great nation continues to be a beacon of hope and freedom for all.
