Choose Life by Chasing Jesus

In Deuteronomy 30:19, God calls us to “choose life so that you and your children may live.” 

As believers, we choose life by embracing the abundant life Jesus provides us (John 10:10). It is when we pursue Jesus that we let go of the deadening, empty pursuits of the world and move toward His joy, peace, and purpose. 

Following Christ isn’t always easy, but Jesus knows He is with us every step of the way (Matthew 28:20). 

Today, I urge you, if you haven't yet, to follow Jesus, for He is the Way, Truth, and Life (John 14:6). He is the one who will satisfy, renew, and transform your life. Let’s pursue Jesus, that wellspring of eternal life and hope.

As we approach Good Friday, I want to share this with you and invite you to pray that many will come to Jesus and accept Him as their Lord and Savior. If you know someone who is without Christ, I encourage you to pray and ask God to open a door for you to share the following Gospel presentation.

If you are reading this and have never surrendered your life to Jesus, meaning that you have never asked Him into your life as your Savior and Lord, then I pray you spend time reading the following Scriptures and then invite Jesus into your life. 

Perhaps you are a follower of Jesus but have never shared Jesus with anyone. In that case, the following can also be helpful to you as you pray for those in your circle who are without Christ and for an opportunity to share Jesus with others.

Sharing Jesus without fear is the greatest way to honor the Lord Jesus Christ.

While the information below is a quick summary of key points, I highly recommend reading the book Share Jesus Without Fear by William Fay.  This book is a great tool to help you get started sharing your faith!

‍The Five Share Jesus Questions:

  1. Do you have any kind of spiritual belief?
  2. To you, who is Jesus?
  3. Do you think there is a heaven or a hell?
  4. If you died tonight, where would you go?  If heaven, why?
  5. If what you were believing were not true, would you want to know?

  • 2 Corinthians 5:15

The Five Commitment Questions:

  1. Are you a sinner?
  2. Do you want forgiveness of your sins?
  3. Do you believe Jesus Christ died on the cross for you and rose again?
  4. Are you willing to surrender your life to Jesus Christ?
  5. Are you ready to invite Jesus Christ into your life and into your heart?

The Sinner's Prayer

"Heavenly Father, I have sinned against you. I want forgiveness for all my sins. I believe that Jesus died on the cross for me and rose again. Father, I give you my life to do with as you wish.  I want Jesus Christ to come into my life and into my heart. This I ask in Jesus' name. Amen"
