Craving What Satisfies

July 24, 2026

In America, a quirky trend has caught the eye of many soccer fans from around the world attending the FIFA World Cup: an unexpected love of ranch dressing.

Whether on salads, for dipping fries, or with snacks, some fans can’t get enough of its creamy, tangy flavor. This unusual craving highlights a simple truth: we all crave things that bring comfort and joy, even in small, surprising ways.

This craving reminds me of a deeper hunger we all share—the hunger for what truly satisfies our souls. Just as soccer fans seek the perfect dip to enhance their experience, we are invited to crave something far better: devotion to God.

Jesus said in Matthew 5:6, “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled.” This hunger isn’t physical but spiritual—a longing for closeness to God, His presence, guidance, and love. When we crave God with that intensity, He promises to fill us completely.

Ranch dressing may satisfy a temporary craving during the game, but God’s devotion nourishes us forever. Unlike fleeting pleasures, His love never fades and never leaves us empty.

Today, reflect on what you crave most. Is it comfort, success, approval, or something fleeting? Invite God to stir within you a hunger for His righteousness. Let your soul thirst for His presence as fervently as fans seek their favorite flavor.

Pray with me:

Heavenly Father, help me crave You above all else. Fill my heart with a hunger for Your righteousness that satisfies more than anything this world offers, and draw me ever closer to You. In Jesus Name, Amen.

I thank God for you and hope you and your family have a wonderful day. Always remember that someone is praying for you at somebodyspraying.com.
