Experiencing a Summer High with God

Summer often brings warmth, light, and joy. Spiritually, we can experience a “summer high” with God—a season of spiritual renewal and deep joy as we bask in His presence. Just as the sun nourishes the earth, God’s love revives our souls and fills us with peace.

The psalmist writes, “You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.” (Psalm 16:11, ESV)

This reminds us that true joy and fulfillment come from abiding in God’s presence. When we intentionally seek Him—through prayer, worship, and meditation on His Word—we experience a spiritual high that sustains us beyond summer’s fleeting pleasures.

Jesus said, “I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.” (John 10:10, ESV)

The abundant life is not merely about material or seasonal enjoyment but a deep, lasting joy rooted in a relationship with Him. I pray that you take time this summer to refresh your spirit in God’s love and grace. Like the flowers blooming in the sun’s warmth, allow your faith to flourish as you soak in His truth.

As you enjoy the beauty around you, remember God’s promise in Isaiah 40:31: “But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.” 

Embrace this season as an opportunity to experience a refreshing summer high with God that invigorates your soul and strengthens your walk of faith.
