Heart Check: Jesus at the Center

What does your heart reveal about your relationship with Jesus?
The condition of our heart is a powerful indicator of our relationship with Jesus. In Proverbs 4:23, we are reminded, “Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.”
Our heart is the wellspring of life, and what resides there shapes our thoughts, actions, and faith.
Jesus said in Matthew 6:21, “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” This means our priorities and affections reveal what or whom we truly value. A heart aligned with Jesus will seek His kingdom first (Matthew 6:33), reflecting trust, love, and obedience.
When our hearts are hardened or distracted by the world, it hinders our fellowship with Christ. But God desires that our hearts be soft and responsive. Ezekiel 36:26 promises, “I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you.” Through the Holy Spirit, Jesus transforms us from within.
Take a moment today to examine your heart.
What does it reveal?
Are you drawing closer to Jesus or drifting away?
Pray for a heart that longs for Him, rests in His grace, and shines His love to others. Let your heart be a reflection of a living, vibrant relationship with Jesus.
Finally, I encourage you to pray for those with whom you may have differences rather than criticize them. Take extra time to pray and ask Jesus to help you see others as He does and to consider how your life can influence them and lead them to Jesus.
