Hold the Line: Standing Firm in Faith

April 13, 2026

Hold the line.

These three words have been constantly on my mind this week. As I read Scripture and talk with others about these words, I share this in the hope that it encourages you to stand firm and hold the line for God's glory.

My friends, we need to be alert because in today’s fast-changing world, it can be easy to waver or give up when facing difficulties. However, God calls us to “hold the line.” To stand firm in our faith and trust in Him regardless of the circumstances. Holding the line means staying committed to God’s truth, resisting temptation, and persevering through trials.

The Apostle Paul urges us in 1 Corinthians 16:13, “Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong.” This verse reminds us that faith demands vigilance and strength. It’s not about passive waiting but active endurance.

When we hold the line, we demonstrate faithfulness and reliance on God’s power, not our own. Joshua 1:9 assures us, “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” God’s presence gives us the strength to hold on.

Today, think about areas where you might be tempted to quit or settle. Ask God for courage and strength to stay committed. Remember, your perseverance honors God and encourages those around you.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, help me stand firm in my faith. When challenges come, remind me to stay rooted and trust in Your strength. Lord Jesus, grant me courage and perseverance so I can walk faithfully with You. In Jesus Name, Amen.
