Running the Big Race with Endurance

September 25, 2026

On August 22 and 23, Washington, D.C. will host a thrilling NTT INDYCAR SERIES, where drivers push their limits on a fast, challenging course. Like these racers, we, as followers of Christ, are called to run a spiritual race that requires endurance, focus, and perseverance.

The apostle Paul writes in 2 Timothy 4:7, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” Paul’s words remind us that our spiritual journey is not a sprint but a marathon. Just as NTT INDYCAR SERIES drivers maintain intense focus to navigate twists and turns, we must keep our eyes fixed on Jesus (Hebrews 12:1-2) and persevere through hardships with faith.

NTT INDYCAR SERIES racers spend countless hours training, studying strategy, and collaborating with their teams. The work of the drivers and crew shows that success depends on preparation and support. Similarly, our race is fueled by daily prayer, reading God’s Word, and fellowship with believers. Friends, we cannot run this race alone.

As the roar of engines echoes through the streets of D.C., let it remind us that in life’s “big race,” God equips us to finish strong. No matter the obstacles, we run with endurance because our ultimate prize is eternal life in Christ Jesus.

I encourage you today to pause and reflect on where you are in life, especially in your relationship with the Lord. What spiritual “gear” do you need to adjust or strengthen today to keep running well in your race? How can you lean on God and your faith community to stay on course?

I hope you will take a moment and let me know how I can pray for you today. You can share your request right here at somebodyspraying.com
