Trust and Obey

We are three weeks away from Good Friday. As we approach these final weeks to the cross, I have been reflecting on the words "trust" and "obey," along with the following scriptures from Proverbs 3:5-6, John 14:15, 1 Samuel 15:22, and John 14:23-24, as well as the great hymn of faith, "Trust and Obey." The words from the chorus of this hymn are:
Trust and obey, for there's no other way
to be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.
Are you fully trusting Him?
Are you growing in your personal walk with Jesus?
Are you being obedient to all that He has commanded you for your good and His glory?
Are you releasing those things that hinder your relationship with Him or still holding on?
As we approach Good Friday and Resurrection Sunday, I encourage you to take some time to reflect on your relationship with Jesus and invite Him to show you where your trust and obedience need to be adjusted to align with Him.
If you're not in a relationship with Jesus today, I invite you to pray the prayer below. If you do have a relationship with Jesus, I encourage you to stay engaged in ongoing prayer, discipleship, and evangelism.
The Sinner's Prayer
"Heavenly Father, I have sinned against you. I want forgiveness for all my sins. I believe that Jesus died on the cross for me and rose again. Father, I give you my life to do with as you wish. I want Jesus Christ to come into my life and into my heart. This I ask in Jesus' name. Amen"
If you have prayed this prayer and invited Jesus into your life, please email me at jay@jayjohnston.org so I can pray with and celebrate your decision with you. I love you and look forward to praying with you this week.
